News:

  • The good: SD card sockets arrived and I’ve restarted my assembly line.
  • The bad: All preorders are now closed, lists are full for weeks in advance.

I keep getting tons of emails asking for another GDEMU production run – yes, there will be one, but I don’t yet know when exactly. My best guess is “in few weeks”, with a very broad definition of “few”. Pestering me about it is not going to speed up things.

I HAVE NOT, AND WILL NOT START ANOTHER WAITING LIST UNTIL THE DATE OF NEXT PRODUCTION RUN IS KNOWN. NO, I WILL NOT MAIL YOU, OR THE FEW DOZENS OF OTHER INTERESTED PEOPLE, PERSONALLY WHEN I DO OPEN THE PREORDERS. WATCH THIS BLOG, IT’S HERE FOR A REASON.

That should hopefully make things clear.

  4. EXCELLENT UPDATE!!! Got my Rhea a few weeks ago and works beautifully. I had a bit of a problem with the Daemon Tools conversion method and had to find a link to download an older version as the newest DT always gave me audio images only- never a playable game CDI. Patiently awaiting my GDEMU payment request. I’m really looking forward to this.

    Looking forward to the future and PCE CD-ROM emulation 🙂

  7. I’m having a bit of a problem with my GDEMU, wondering if someone can help. I’m using a Sandisk Extreme 32gb SDHC card formatted with SD Formatter, FAT32 32kb. I put a GDI in a folder named 01, with the .gdi file renamed “disc.gdi”. When I insert the sd card into the GDEMU the LED comes on and stays on. When I click on the controller to play, it says theres no disk. I’ve also tried a CDI renamed disc.cdi and it did the same thing. Any help? Thanks

    UPDATE – I just tried making the SD card with the latest GDEMU_SD and got the same result. The yellow LED comes on and stays on. I’m giving up for tonight…

      • I went out and bought one of the new Samsung Pro Class 10 cards and I’m happy to say that did the trick. Thanks for your help and thank you for GDEMU, it’s great!

    • I met the same problem.
      If I inserted card then boot the console,it usually will not boot and shows exactly the same error light as you.
      But if I insert the card after the console finished booting.Then there is no problem.
      So it’s not a critical problem to me.

    Will be a 21 pin Rhea version?

  9. check your gdi file,mismatch filesnames inside the gdi.
    bin and the raw files maybe wrong.

  10. yeah its the same with the sd2snes it wont play good with all sd cards. Especially if the sd card is a fake. How would you know? if you bought a large capacity sd card off of ebay for cheap its probably fake.

    I always buy mine at wal mart or a known computer store like tigerdirect. their Sandisk cards work good. they are cheap enough there.

  11. Drat I missed the preorder for both the GDEMU and Rhea :(. Oh well at least this gives me time to save up for both and finally get a sega saturn. Which sd card work best for these two tiny powerhouses of fun?

  12. on my gdemu i have put a pny 256go card,works very fine ^^
    and on my rhea unit,a kingston 128go card ^^

  13. I Miss preorders everytime! 😦 I will wait and hope that I time with the preorders. Love the Dreamcast and the Gdrom is dead in my machine..

    • You need to visit daily, pretty much every preorder closes the same day.

  14. Hi Deunan. As someone claimed on facebook, Super Street Fighter IIX for Matching Service – Grand Master Challenge v1.001 (2000)(Capcom)(NTSC)(JP)[!] (GDI) is not working properly. He says the game is very slow from character selection screen. In my case, the game sends me to the splash screen. I cannot even play. Are you working on a new firmware? Best regards.

      • in my gdi full set,i have a CDI version of SSF2x , works fine ^^
        i have the original game but i don’t have the sd card reader to dump the game in gdi format…

    just wanted to inform others about my experience in ordering the GDEMU hardware. I was on the waiting list for a very long time but one day the payment request popped up in PayPal and, yes, there was a mail from PayPal notifying that I had a payment request. You can imagine how fast I paid for it, it was the 13th of April and I got the package today here in Switzerland.
